Congratulations to Australian National Maze Rescue Champions Nicholas Di Falco (Year 11 Carden), James Neal and Jordan Watson (Year 11 Normandy) who represented AUSTRALIA and the College at the RoboCup International Championships in Bordeaux, France, over the July school holidays. Despite being global debutants competing against experienced teams from across the world, our team placed a very impressive 14th out of 30 and won the written and presentation sections of the competition! This is very impressive considering the number of teams who had been refining their robots over several years of competition.

Despite facing a few challenges along the journey, including the replacement of various components such as controllers, several sensors and a few wires on the first day of competition, our team displayed relentless determination in enhancing their robot's performance.

Overall, the experience was both enjoyable and enriching for our team members. The challenge helped them grow considerably, and they returned with invaluable insights and knowledge. Bring on the new season of RoboCup!

A special thank you to Engineering Teacher Mr John O'Shea, Deputy Principal - Staff Growth and Pedagogy Mrs Susan Carrick and the parents/caregivers of the team for making this opportunity possible.
